AFC Wimbledon will be hoping to have Chris Whelpdale fit for Saturday's Sky Bet League One visit of Northampton.

The midfielder has been missing with a groin strain and was in contention to feature in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Bolton but did not recover in time.

Manager Neal Ardley could be boosted by Whelpdale's return as the Dons look to return to winning ways.

Jon Meades should retain his place having started at the Macron Stadium following an ankle problem, but Barry Fuller (shoulder) is a long-term absentee.

The Cobblers will still be without Alex Revell (calf) for Saturday's trip but boss Justin Edinburgh has revealed that the striker is progressing well.

Defender Neal Eardley is available after missing the win over Charlton on paternity leave.

Brendan Moloney played 60 minutes in a midweek reserve game on his recovery from a knee injury but is still unavailable.

Centre-back Gabriel Zakuani will miss the game after picking up a hamstring injury last week.
