Gareth Bale to open a Cardiff sports bar

A new sports bar is preparing to open up in Cardiff and the owner certainly knows his sport, given that the project is being managed by Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.

Named after his shirt number, the venue will be called Elevens and will screen all kinds of sport, with a classic food menu to go with it.

"Over a year in the making and I'm now thrilled to be able to announce on St David's Day the upcoming opening of my new sports bar in Cardiff," the Welshman said in an Instagram post.

"It has been a big goal and ambition of mine to open a sports bar.

"I feel that in Cardiff there isn't really a major venue where you can specifically go to watch sport.

"I'm sure it'll be a great success."

Elevens is expected to open its doors by late spring or early summer, potentially in time for a Champions League final party, which Bale will hope is celebrating his securing of the Duodecima down the road at the Principality Stadium.
