Italian news outlet La Repubblica claim the defender doesn't want to commit his future to the Serie A outfit.
It's suggested Lazio are resigned to losing their prized asset with Europe's elite clubs circling.
Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham all keen to secure his signature.
But it's claimed the most likely destination for the Dutchman in the summer is Stamford Bridge.
De Vrij has earned 30 caps for the Netherlands since taking his international bow in 2012.
He joined the Rome based outfit for £6.8m in 2014 from Feyenoord and has impressed for the Italian heavyweights.
Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his defensive options.
He drafted in Marcos Alonso and David Luiz during the summer.
Nathan Ake has also been recalled from a loan spell at Bournemouth this month - but Chelsea still need reinforcements.
