Rumour: Liverpool make initial enquiry for Inter Milan’s Geoffrey Kondogbia

Liverpool have joined Chelsea in making initial enquiries about the possibility of signing Geoffrey Kondogbia from Inter Milan this month.
Kondogbia has generally found playing time limited at Inter this season although the midfielder has started the club's last three league matches, which resulted in wins in all of them. The French no.7 has made 11 Serie A outings this campaign.
According to France Football - via Get Football News France - the 23-year-old is eager to depart the San Siro with his playing time severely limited and Liverpool have made contact about a potential move for Kondogbia.
The Reds face competition from Chelsea to sign the powerful enforcer but the report claims that neither team sees Kondogbia as an essential signing this month, with their interest tentative at best.
However, there could be potential for a deal to happen if Inter express an interest in selling and a reasonable transfer fee can be negotiated.
Chelsea are looking for additional midfield cover having sold Oscar and John Obi Mikel to Chinese clubs this month while a deal for Kondogbia could allow Liverpool to let Lucas Leiva leave Anfield.
