Birmingham vs Nottingham Forest - Craig Gardner could make Birmingham return against Nottingham Forest

Craig Gardner could make his Birmingham return against Nottingham Forest after completing a loan move from West Brom.

The midfielder, who played for the Blues between 2010 and 2011, has signed and will complete a permanent move in the summer.

Greg Stewart has suffered a knee injury and could be out for around two weeks having made a substitute appearance in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with Newcastle.

Jonathan Spector should return but Jacques Maghoma is away with DR Congo for their African Nations Cup campaign.

Henri Lansbury will once again be left out of the Forest squad as uncertainty continues to surround his future, with rivals Derby and Aston Villa having enquired about the midfielder.

It remains to be seen if Dani Pinillos will be back in the first-team squad, or whether the full-back will be included in the under-23 side that faces Leeds on Friday, as he makes his way back from a knee injury.

The continued absences of Armand Traore (knee), Danny Fox (strain) and Chris Cohen (groin) means Reds boss Philippe Montanier still has very few options at left-back so Michael Mancienne may be asked to fill in.

Midfielder David Vaughan looks likely to remain unavailable with his latest rib issue.
