Cambridge's new signing Jake Carroll could make his debut when they welcome Blackpool in their Sky Bet League Two game on Saturday.

The 25-year-old left-back joined the U's on Thursday from Hartlepool and could go straight into the side.

Brad Halliday has been back in training this week so is in contention for this weekend's game after missing the 2-1 defeat to Leeds in the FA Cup last weekend.

Cambridge boss Shaun Derry has no fresh injury or suspension concerns.

Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer is likely to make changes again for his side's third match in a week.

He made six for the midweek Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Wycombe on penalties, resting the likes of defenders Andy Taylor and Tom Aldred and midfielder Brad Potts.

All three are likely to return, along with leading scorer Kyle Vassell, as the Seasiders try to make it 10 points from the last four away matches.

Midfielder Mark Yeates' return to fitness in midweek after a calf injury means only Colin Daniel (hamstring) is unavailable, but he is likely to begin training next week.
