Morecambe vs Crewe Alexandra - Crewe sweating on fitness of Ryan Lowe ahead of Morecambe clash
Posted Monday, January 02, 2017 by PA
Crewe boss Steve Davis will assess skipper Ryan Lowe ahead of the trip to Morecambe.
Lowe has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury and Davis could be tempted to make several changes following Saturday's home defeat to Accrington as his side bid for their first league win in six matches.
Midfielders Danny Hollands and Callum Saunders, plus forward Daniel Udoh are among those pushing for recalls.
Defender Ben Nugent (cheekbone) is also hoping to feature. He returned to the bench as an unused substitute against Accrington after being given the all-clear by doctors.
Morecambe fear they will be without James Jennings.
The Cheltenham loanee was forced off with an injury against Hartlepool on Friday night when the Shrimps were defeated 3-2.
Striker Cole Stockton is already missing for manager Jim Bentley due to a knee injury.
Midfielder Alex Kenyon will serve the final game of his three-match ban and will return against Notts County at the weekend.
