Gillingham vs Oxford United - Gills duo suspended for visit of Oxford
Posted Sunday, January 01, 2017 by PA
Gillingham will be without suspended duo Paul Konchesky and Bradley Dack for the visit of Oxford.
Defender Konchesky and midfielder Dack were cautioned in the defeat at Millwall on Friday so must serve a one-match ban.
On-loan Cardiff defender Adedeji Oshilaja could come into the side, while Chris Herd is also in contention following his return to fitness, as is forward Frank Nouble, who came off the bench at the Den.
Midfielder Lee Martin (ankle) and defender Aaron Morris (knee) are long-term absentees.
Oxford manager Michael Appleton named an unchanged side for the fourth league match in a row as they ended 2016 with a goalless draw at home to Walsall.
Forward Ryan Taylor could come into contention after his introduction from the bench.
On-loan West Brom 17-year-old attacker Tyler Roberts is another option should Appleton look to freshen up his side.
Defenders Christian Ribeiro (ankle), Sam Long and midfielder Liam Sercombe (both knee) remain long-term absentees.
