Chesterfield vs Milton Keynes Dons - Connor Dimaio in fitness race for Chesterfield
Posted Sunday, January 01, 2017 by PA
Chesterfield boss Danny Wilson is hoping midfielder Connor Dimaio can shake off injury in time for the visit of MK Dons.
Dimaio missed Friday's defeat at Port Vale due to a knee problem but will be given every chance before Wilson names his starting line-up.
Wilson made three changes at Vale Park and must decide whether to retain goalkeeper Ryan Fulton, midfielder Jon Nolan and winger Reece Mitchell.
The Spireites, still without goalkeeper Tommy Lee (shoulder), plus defenders Dan Jones (foot) and Paul McGinn (hamstring), are bidding to avoid a third straight defeat.
MK Dons midfielder Darren Potter is back in contention and expected to feature after serving a two-game ban.
Right-back George Baldock remains doubtful after missing the last two games due to a hamstring strain and on-loan striker Ryan Colclough has been recalled by parent club Wigan.
Nicky Maynard scored his 100th career goal in Friday's home win against Swindon and is expected to resume his partnership up front with Chuks Aneke.
Forward Kabongo Tshimanga and midfielder Daniel Powell are pushing for recalls as the Dons chase their first win on the road under boss Robbie Neilson.
