Birmingham vs Brentford - Maghoma set for final game before African Nations Cup

Posted Sunday, January 01, 2017 by PA

Birmingham forward Jacques Maghoma plays his final game against Brentford before leaving for the African Nations Cup.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international scored his third goal of the season in Saturday's 2-2 Sky Bet Championship comeback draw at Barnsley.

Lukas Jutkiewicz and David Cotterill could be rewarded for bright second-half performances at Oakwell with starting spots against Brentford.

But Paul Caddis (shoulder) and Clayton Donaldson (Achilles) might miss out again as Gianfranco Zola seeks his first win as Blues boss.

Brentford should have an unchanged squad following their bore draw with Norwich.

Rico Henry (shoulder), Lewis Macleod (knee) and Alan Judge (leg) remain sidelined for the Bees.

Callum Elder is back at parent club Leicester for treatment on the hamstring problem which has kept him out since September.

Midfielder Alan McCormack is training again after a groin injury.
