Celtic fans BANNED from wearing hard hats for Old Firm derby at Ibrox

Whose idea was it to schedule an Old Firm derby for New Year’s Eve?

From tomorrow morning until around January 3rd, Glasgow is going to be quite the spectacle.

And is if the intensity of a historic and fierce rivalry on the biggest partying day of the year wasn’t enough, Celtic fans have also been worrying about the stadium collapsing on them.

Some Hoops fans had planned to wear hard hats in the away end at Ibrox as there were safety concerns over the state of the roof.

However, police have banned fans from bringing hard hats to the game after the roof passed Glasgow City Council’s safety tests.

No need to worry about falling debris, lads.

Rangers’ chairman Dave King announced plans to renovate the stadiums ‘crumbling’ roof earlier this year but clearly not until it’s played its part in the traditional Old Firm mind-games.
