Palermo 0 - 2 Chievo: Valter Birsa & Sergio Pellissier net for Chievo as Palermo home misery continues

Chievo condemned bottom club Palermo to an eighth successive home defeat in Serie A, with goals early in each half from Valter Birsa and Sergio Pellissier giving the visitors a 2-0 success.

Winger Birsa opened the scoring in the 14th minute and striker Pellissier added a second soon after the interval to help lift Chievo up four places to ninth in the table.

Birsa buried a left-footed shot into the bottom corner after early pressure from the visitors before Mato Jajalo, Robin Quaison and Ilija Nestorovski all went close to equalising in the first half for Palermo.

Pellissier slammed home Chievo's second goal from inside the penalty area four minutes into the second half.

Andrea Rispoli's shot flew narrowly wide and Bruno Henrique's effort forced a fine save from Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino - but Palermo have yet to register a point at Stadio Renzo Barbera this season.
