Bologna 0 - 0 Empoli: Relegation rivals share stalemate in Serie A
Posted Monday, December 12, 2016 by PA
Bologna's bid for three much-needed points was thwarted as they were held to a goalless home draw by relegation rivals Empoli.
Both sides found clear-cut chances hard to come by and when Bologna did threaten they found Empoli goalkeeper Lucasz Skorupski in fine form.
Bologna were twice denied by Skorupski towards the end of the first half when efforts from Adam Nagy and Mattia Destro were well saved.
Bologna striker Anthony Mounier headed wide twice within less than a minute on the hour mark as the home side looked for the breakthrough.
Federico Viviani and Ladislav Krejci both went close for Bologna after the break with shots from the edge of the area, and a frustrating game culminated in bookings in stoppage time for Bologna's Emil Krafth and Blerim Dzemaili and Empoli's Marcel Buchel.
