PSV Eindhoven vs FK Rostov - High-pressure games are the best ones

Phillip Cocu has backed PSV Eindhoven to thrive under the pressure of their must-win clash with FC Rostov.

PSV know only a victory will do if they are to snatch third place in Group D and a spot in the Europa League.

"These are the best matches," head coach Cocu said at the pre-match press conference.

"You have to get energy from these games. There is pressure because you have to win.

"You have to go into that game diligently and you should be able to say you've done everything. If we start thinking now, 'If this, then that', then you might as well stay home.

"We will go full for the win. That must be the starting point. "

Ukrainian midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko played against Rostov in the Russian Premier League and hopes that experience will help.

"We have Rostov well studied," he said.

"What is important is the result. We have to win. If I can help team-mates by telling them about my experiences, I will certainly do that.

"Those experiences are that FC Rostov is not to be underestimated. We hope to find the keys to open up their defence."

Rostov need only a draw to prolong their European campaign, but head coach Ivan Danilyants is taking nothing for granted.

"This is not an easy task," he said.

"We'd like to continue our introduction to European competition. Let's be honest - it was initially very difficult to get out of the group.

"From the first round it was clear that between us and PSV will be fighting for a place in the Europa League."
