Martin Allen will be in charge of Eastleigh for their FA Cup clash against FC Halifax after he left Barnet on Thursday to become the Spitfires' new manager.

Eastleigh went down 2-1 in their Vanarama National League fixture at Maidstone on Tuesday, after which the Hampshire club confirmed boss Ronnie Moore had left due to personal circumstances. An approach was made to the Bees and Allen was released from his contract to take over.

Former Norwich, Bristol Rovers, Reading and Colchester striker Jamie Cureton, 41, announced his departure from the club via Twitter following Allen's arrival, opening the door for Scott Wilson and James Constable for a place in attack.

Defender Ryan Cresswell continues his recovery from a long-term knee problem.

Halifax midfielder Nathan Hotte is an injury doubt for Billy Heath's National League North side.

Hotte, who has not featured since mid-November, will be assessed and should he miss out Kevin Roberts could return to the side.

Defender Danny Hone returned to action in midweek following injury when a youthful Halifax were beaten by Silsden in the West Riding County Cup, but was withdrawn at the interval.

Halifax knocked out Dagenham after a replay in the previous round thanks to Matty Koylo's last-minute winner.
