Burton Albion FC vs Rotherham United - Burton to make late check on Jamie Ward
Posted Thursday, December 01, 2016 by PA
Burton will check on Jamie Ward ahead of the visit of Rotherham.
Ward is continuing his recovery from a fractured wrist. The forward, on loan from Nottingham Forest, underwent surgery after sustaining the injury in the goalless draw at home to Barnsley on November 5 and is now wearing a protective cast.
Brewers boss Nigel Clough will make a late decision over Ward's inclusion - possibly as late as Saturday morning.
Central defender Kyle McFadzean is Clough's only other concern as he serves the third game of his four-match suspension.
Rotherham begin life after Kenny Jackett under the caretaker charge of Paul Warne.
Jackett walked out on the struggling Millers on Monday just five games and 39 days into his spell and leaves Warne with a selection headache.
Greg Halford is out for six to eight weeks with an ankle injury suffered in the defeat to Leeds, the same game where Peter Odemwingie was sent off for an elbow, meaning he starts a three-match ban.
Goalkeeper Lee Camp (knee) and Joe Newell (hamstring) limped off against Leeds but they are expected to be fit. However, Lee Frecklington (ankle) misses out.
