Mansfield Town vs Stevenage Borough - Mansfield unlikely to rush Taft back into action
Posted Friday, October 28, 2016 by PA
Mansfield midfielder Jamie McGuire is back in training but is unlikely to feature against Stevenage this weekend.
McGuire has missed two matches with a leg problem that has required some fluid having to be drained, after being on the receiving end of a kick in training, and Stags boss Adam Murray may opt against drafting him straight back in.
It is a similar story for defender George Taft, who has also returned to training after a hamstring injury but is not set to be involved this weekend.
Mansfield performed well at Luton last weekend and Murray is unlikely to make too many changes, although reverting to wing-backs again as he did during the last home game could be an option.
Stevenage striker Matt Godden has been passed fit for the Sky Bet League Two trip to One Call Stadium.
Godden picked up a knock in the 2-1 defeat by Carlisle but has made a full recovery.
Winger Jobi McAnuff (toe) and forward Tyler Walker (knee) face fitness tests.
Veteran midfielder Steven Schumacher is hoping for his first start since overcoming a knee issue.
