Daryll Meggatt's own goal and a late strike from Lee Miller gave Falkirk a 2-0 Ladbrokes Championship victory over Ayr.

Defender Meggatt headed into the bottom of his own net with 12 minutes remaining before substitute Miller turned and fired into the roof of the net in the first minute of stoppage time.

Striker Bob McHugh shot narrowly wide for the hosts in the first half, while Ayr's Gary Harkins directed a free header off target 10 minutes after the restart.

Kevin Nisbet was superbly denied by Falkirk goalkeeper Danny Rogers just after the hour mark before the home side grabbed the points.
