Morecambe vs Crawley - Alex Whitmore still suspended for Crawley clash

Alex Whitmore serves the second of his three-match suspension when Morecambe face Crawley on Saturday.

The defender was sent off in the Shrimps' 5-1 loss to Doncaster two weeks ago, their third successive home defeat.

Dean Winnard replaced him last weekend against Cambridge for his first appearance of the season and looks certain to keep his place after an impressive performance.

Midfielder Peter Murphy returned from a knee injury as a late substitute last weekend and could be pushing for a start.

Crawley will be without midfielder Jordan Roberts as the side travel to the Globe Arena.

The 22-year-old has been ruled out for a month after a scan revealed he is suffering from a hairline fracture in his toe after making a long-awaited return as a substitute last Saturday in the 2-0 win over Luton.

The Reds' manager Dermot Drummy has no other injury or suspension worries as they look for their second win in a row.

Matt Harrold is still sidelined due to an Achilles injury.
