Derby vs Ipswich - Johnny Russell ruled out as Derby prepare for Ipswich showdown

Johnny Russell will miss Derby's home game against Ipswich through injury while Ikechi Anya and Richard Keogh are also doubts for the Rams.

Russell is nursing a calf complaint after the defeat to Newcastle on Saturday evening and the forward will definitely not be involved on Tuesday night.

Anya, a new signing from Watford, limped off with cramp after 78 minutes against the Magpies and Keogh suffered an ankle injury late on in the 2-0 loss. Both players will be assessed.

Abdoul Camara (hamstring) remains a doubt for Derby but fellow forwards Nick Blackman and Darren Bent together with midfielders Tom Ince, Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield will be pushing for recalls.

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy may make changes following the defeat to Reading.

McCarthy picked an unchanged team at the Madejski Stadium on Friday night, with new signings Tom Lawrence and Leon Best and the fit-again Conor Grant among the substitutes.

None of the trio made it on to the pitch against the Royals and will hope to come into McCarthy's thoughts, while the likes of Teddy Bishop, Luke Varney and Adam Webster are also options.

Striker David McGoldrick and on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams continue their recoveries from ankle injuries, while midfielder Luke Hyam may need surgery for an ongoing knee problem.
