Wigan could hand a debut to new signing Shaun MacDonald when they host Birmingham in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday.
The former Bournemouth midfielder was in attendance on Saturday when the Latics beat Blackburn and will come into the squad.
Manager Gary Caldwell has a decision to make over Nick Powell, who scored against Rovers but is still some way short of peak match fitness and may require a rest.
Sam Morsy seems likely to be left out again as he continues to be linked with a transfer.
James Vaughan looks certain to miss the trip to the DW Stadium with a quad injury.
The striker is yet to score for Birmingham since joining from Huddersfield, initially on loan, in January having made his move permanent in the summer.
Che Adams could make his debut after his B#1.5million move from Sheffield United last week, having been left on the bench for Blues' 2-1 win at Leeds on Saturday.
Greg Stewart is also in line for his bow having joined from Dundee. He was also an unused substitute at Elland Road.
