Colchester United vs Cambridge United - Colchester to check on goalkeeper Sam Walker
Posted Friday, August 12, 2016 by PA
Colchester hope goalkeeper Sam Walker will shake off a hand injury to be fit to face Cambridge.
Walker missed the midweek EFL Cup defeat at Brighton, where 20-year-old Dillon Barnes made his senior debut and he is again on stand-by.
Summer signing Brennan Dickenson could retain his place in defence to make a first league start for the Us, but midfielder Owen Garvan remains doubtful having just returned to training.
Left-back Matt Briggs is still sidelined with a hip problem.
Cambridge expect to have Leon Legge available after the defender missed their EFL Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek with an abductor muscle strain.
Goalkeeper Will Norris continues to be monitored as he recovers from an ankle problem, so David Gregory is on stand-by.
Forward Adam McGurk remains sidelined by a knee injury.
No timescale has been given for the return of Harrison Dunk after the forward limped off with a hamstring problem against Barnet last weekend.
