Preston vs Fulham - Preston skipper Tom Clarke set to miss out when Fulham visit Deepdale

Preston look set to be without their captain Tom Clarke once again when Fulham visit Deepdale.

The defender came off in the opening-day defeat to Reading with a hamstring strain and was absent for the EFL Cup loss to Hartlepool in midweek.

Striker Simon Makienok (thigh) has a chance at making his debut for North End after missing the first two fixtures while Ben Pearson will swell Simon Grayson's options provided he can overcome illness.

The Lilywhites have started the season without Stevie May and Calum Woods (both knee), who are out for the long term.

Ryan Fredericks is Fulham's only injury absentee.

The right-back is recovering from ankle surgery which is likely to sideline him until November.

Goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is fit after a hamstring problem which gives manager Slavisa Jokanovic a dilemma after summer signing David Button started the opening-day win over Newcastle.

Jokanovic will restore the majority of that side to his starting line-up after making 11 changes for the midweek EFL Cup win over Leyton Orient.
