Leyton Orient vs Newport - Tom Parkes struggling for Orient

Posted Friday, August 12, 2016 by PA

Leyton Orient defender Tom Parkes is struggling to be fit for the home clash with Newport.

Parkes missed the EFL Cup defeat to Fulham on Tuesday with a shoulder injury while striker Jordan Bowery has a knee problem and is also a doubt.

Dean Cox and Paul McCallum both came off the bench in midweek following long-term knee injuries and could feature again.

Defender Callum Kennedy is set to make his first league start after joining the O's in June.

Winger Jack Compton has added to Newport's problems after sustaining a calf injury in Tuesday's cup defeat to MK Dons.

Summer signing Compton scored on his debut against Mansfield last weekend but could now be missing for up to three weeks.

Lenell John-Lewis has already been ruled out until the new year with a serious knee injury, while fellow forward Jon Parkin serves the final match of a three-game ban.

Loan signings Josh Sheehan and Jordan Green are in contention to start for the first time after being among the substitutes against MK Dons.
