Tottenham agree deal in principle for Turkey international

Tottenham have agreed a deal in principle to sign Fenerbahce star Mehmet Topal on a free transfer at the end of this season, according to Fanatik.

The 30-year-old will see his contract with the Turkish giants expire in the summer, and manager Mauricio Pochettino looks set to bring him to White Hart Lane.

The club are ready to reinforce their squad during the next transfer window given that they are set to ensure Champions League football for their upcoming campaign.

Pochettino’s men are currently sitting second on the Premier League table, five points away from leaders Leicester City, with four matches still to play.

Topal has already featured 45 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score two goals while providing another three assists in the process.

The former Valencia man has been nicknamed ‘The Spider’ in the past due to his lanky frame and ability to stretch into tackles.
