Tottenham star Kane on double mission for title and goals amid Vardy's ban for Leicester

HARRY KANE believes he has more goals in his locker between now and the end of the season and is hoping they can fire Spurs to the title while Jamie Vardy sits on the sidelines.

Harry Kane's two goals on Monday night means Tottenham are now just five points off Leicester

The striker's double in the 4-0 win at Stoke on Monday took his tally for the season to 24, two ahead of England teammate Vardy.

But with the Leicester forward likely to miss two of their final four matches, Kane is hoping his own charge towards the golden boot might drag Spurs ahead in the closing three and a half weeks.

Spurs are second behind leaders Leicester and Kane said: "They are in the driving seat but I'm sure we will push them all the way and I want to score as many goals as I can.

"I've got 24 for the season but there are still plenty of games to go. I'm hoping to get a few more between now and the end and see where I end up. That puts the pressure on the other strikers."

Kane is hot favourite to land the coveted golden boot award for the Premier League's leading marksman and he believes it will prove those wrong who labelled him a one-season wonder.

"There was a lot of talk at the start of the season and it fuelled the fire in my belly to want to prove them wrong," he said. "I've gone and done that but it doesn't stop here for me. It's not a case of 'OK, I'm happy where I am'.

"I want to go and get more goals, create my chances for the team and do my best for Tottenham Hotspur."

Vardy's absence looks set to rob Leicester of their cutting edge just when they need it most with four games to go.

Yet they remain five points clear albeit with a worse goal difference, a gap Kane acknowledged leaves Spurs with no margin for error.

"We want to win all four of them then we will take it from there," he said. "Leicester do have some tough games coming up and of course we want them to drop points. We want to win the league."

Kane's teammate Mousa Dembele admitted that the loss of Vardy could hit Leicester as they enter the final throes.

"He is one of their best players so it's good for us of course, but we have to concentrate on our own game," said Dembele.

"Everyone is mentally ready for this so that's the most important thing. We hope it goes down to the final day."

Next up for Spurs is West Brom at White Hart Lane on Monday, a day after the Foxes entertain Swansea at the King Power Stadium.

Kane added: "West Brom will be no easy game. They are going to come and try and make it hard for us but if we play like we did (at Stoke), I'm sure we'll have no trouble."
