Southend United vs Sheffield United - No new worries for Southend

Southend have no fresh injury or suspension worries for their clash with Sheffield United in Sky Bet League One.

New signing Franck Moussa will be unavailable as he builds up his fitness following a knee injury sustained before he joined up with the Shrimpers.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been training with the club for a week and manager Phil Brown has now opted to sign him on non-contract terms until the end of the season.

Midfielder Ryan Leonard (knee) has stepped up his training but is not in contention to face the Blades.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins is confident Paul Coutts will be fit for the trip.

Midfielder Coutts was withdrawn 10 minutes from the end of the Blades' 3-2 win against Crewe on Friday with an unspecified problem but he should be in contention.

Centre-backs David Edgar and Alex Baptiste are still unavailable, with Edgar on international duty with Canada and Baptiste nursing a hamstring injury he picked up earlier in the month.

Midfielder Martyn Woolford remains on the sidelines with an ankle problem but youngster Ben Whiteman will hope to be involved once again after coming off the bench against the Alex.
