Deschamps hails Payet impact

France national coach Didier Deschamps has hailed Dimitri Payet after his return to the team for the 3-2 win over the Netherlands at Amsterdam Arena on Friday.

The 28-year-old playmaker has been in fantastic form for West Ham in the Premier League, scoring 11 goals in 30 appearances and prompting Deschamps to recall the former Marseille star to the national team.

"He confirmed with us what he has been doing with his club," Deschamps said. "Every time he touched the ball, he made something happen.

"He has enormous qualities and made a massive effort. He is on top form."

Payet's 16th cap for Les Bleus marks a change from earlier in the season, when he publicly bemoaned his omission from the squad, and he could now be set to feature at Euro 2016, which France will host this June and July.
