Atalanta's Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla admits he would be open to a move back to Universidad de Chile.
Since leaving Los Azules in 2003 the 32-year old has been a journeyman, with spells in Scotland, Spain, Cyprus Portugal, Italy, Brazil and Spain.
The lanky Atalanta forward spoke to local reporters after their 2-1 loss to Argentina on Friday and revealed he had contact with his former club in the summer about a possible return.
"Everyone knows what my sentiments are for Universidad," he said. "I'd love to return, but when we had the chance, nothing came of it.
"I won't close the doors to a return, because I grew up there and had the best moments of my career."
Pinalla has contributed 11 goals and five assists in 32 games since joining La Dea from fellow Serie A outfit Genoa.
