Napoli have received a boost in their pursuit of Andre Gomes after his agent claimed they are ahead of Juventus in the race to sign the Valencia midfielder.
Gomes has established himself as a the first-team regular for Los Che since arriving from Benfica in 2014, initially on loan, and notched up his 50th La Liga appearance for Gary Neville's side last month.
His impressive development at the Mestalla has attracted the attentions of Juve and the Partenopei, although the defending Italian champions have not shown as strong an interest in signing the 22-year-old as their Serie A title rivals, according to his advisor, Vincenzo Moribato.
He added that the Portugal international is likely to the leave Spanish club at the end of the season as they face another year without European football, with the team down in 14th place, 14 points adrift of the top-six.
"Juventus have not proved their interest in the player," Moribato told Radio CRC.
"They are certainly not ahead of Napoli in the race to sign Gomes, I categorically state that. Valencia still own the player, but only on paper."
