Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has admitted that he is a fan of the Premier League and believes that his characteristics would be better suited to English football than Serie A.
The 23-year-old Spain international has been linked with a move away from Turin in the summer after two productive seasons with the Italian champions, with Arsenal rumoured to be among his suitors.
His former club Real Madrid have first option to buy Morata back due to a clause in his contract with Juventus, but should they re-sign him and sell him on at a profit he could well end up plying his trade in England.
When asked by Marca about the Premier League, he replied: “I like it a lot due to the characteristics of its football and because it’s more attractive for a striker as it’s not as tactical as Italian football.”
If Morata is available on the market anytime soon, there will be no shortage of clubs interested in acquiring his services as he has impressed during his short career so far.
He netted ten goals in 37 La Liga matches for Real before moving to Juventus in 2014 and he played a key role in knocking his former club out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage last term.
This season he has found starting opportunities hard to come by due to the form of Paulo Dybala, but he has still contributed six goals in Serie A and a further two in the Champions League, including against Manchester City.
Furthermore, his shot accuracy rate of 64% and 21.4% conversion rate in the league this season further highlight his goal threat while he also has one goal in six games for his country.
