Since the start of February Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Roma's hot prospect Leandro Paredes. It is now understood that Liverpool could make a bid for the 21-year-old, with Christian Benteke moving to the Italian capital.
Benteke has struggled to adapt to Jurgen Klopp's style of play at Liverpool, and after a public ticking off in front of a packed St. Mary's stadium last weekend, the Belgian's future almost certainly lies away from Merseyside.
According to Football Italia, Klopp is keen on bringing the young Argentine midfielder to Anfield, and is prepared to offer Christian Benteke in return. The news comes after Liverpool sent scouts to Empoli to assess Paredes' talent at the start of February.
Paredes is currently playing Serie A football for Empoli after being loaned out by Roma last Summer, his superb performances in Italian football has led to widespread interest from Europe's leading clubs, but it is expected that Liverpool lead the charge for the 21-year-old's signature, especially with the prospect of Christian Benteke heading the other way.
