If anyone at Barcelona knows Arsenal well, it's Thomas Vermaelen who called the Emirates his home ground for five seasons, until signing for Barcelona in summer 2014. The Belgian spoke to club officials about the upcoming match on Wednesday.
"We'll need to be focused. They have pace, they have very quick players on the wing and that's what makes them dangerous. It won't be an easy game at all. Although we have a small lead, you can never say they are out", explained the former Arsenal captain.
The Belgian discussed his former club's style and attacking flair, "They gave us a tough time in London. It doesn't matter if they play at home or away, they always play the same. They want to play football on the ground and they'd rather not play long balls".
The 30-year-old also touched on the prospect of Barcelona becoming the first team to win the Champions League in back-to-back campaigns, but reiterated how there is no talk of such a feat in the dressing room: "It would be amazing, but there are so many games in between. We'd rather not talk about it because it's not there yet".
