Udinese struck a blow to Hellas Verona's unlikely Serie A survival bid by beating the basement boys 2-0 at the Stadio Friuli.

Verona did not win a league game until February but last weekend's derby victory over Chievo sowed some hope they could escape the bottom three.

However, goals from Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Cyril Thereau in either half of a lively encounter left Hellas nine points adrift of safety.

Agyemang-Badu opened the scoring with a close-range header in the 31st minute and, shortly before the hour mark, Thereau tucked away Antonio Di Natale's cross at the second time of asking.
