Airdrie United 1 - 1 Stranraer: Airdrie and Stranraer share the points from Excelsior Stadium draw
Posted Sunday, February 21, 2016 by PA
Stranraer took their unbeaten run to six matches with a pleasing 1-1 draw at Airdrie.
Progress was slow moving in the early stages at the Excelsior Stadium, but the game improved after the break.
The visitors took the lead on the hour, slightly against the run of play. Striker Mark McGuigan took advantage of a Paul Cairney pass, and with great relief scored only his third of the season.
Marc Fitzpatrick provided substitute Liam Watt with a chance to level shortly after, and the midfielder made no mistake.
Sean Crighton cursed his luck late on when he crashed a shot against the bar for the home side, but it remained all square.
