Oldham Athletic AFC vs Gillingham - Oldham hoping for Anthony Gerrard boost
Posted Thursday, February 18, 2016 by PA
Oldham defender Anthony Gerrard is hoping to be fit for the home game against Gillingham.
Gerrard was forced out of last weekend's goalless draw at Wigan due to a knee injury and missed the 0-0 midweek stalemate at Blackpool, but will have a late fitness test and has not been ruled out.
Defender Brian Wilson and striker Dominic Poleon (both groin) are still struggling for full fitness, while boss John Sheridan has no new injury or suspension problems.
Striker Curtis Main, on loan from Doncaster, is pushing for his first start after stepping off the bench on Tuesday night.
New signing George Williams could make his Gillingham debut at Boundary Park.
The Wales international joined the Gills last week but arrived too late to be considered for Justin Edinburgh's starting XI against Barnsley and was an unused substitute during the 2-1 home win. Williams can play anywhere up front, or just behind the strikers.
Bradley Garmston, fit again after a hamstring strain, and Emmanuel Osadebe both came off against the Tykes but that was down to fatigue rather than any injury concerns.
Striker Cody McDonald is Gillingham's only long-term injury absentee as he nurses a broken foot.
