Why Mourinho is really going to Milan (and it’s good news for Man Utd)

Jose Mourinho is reportedly going to scout Miranda and Mauro Icardi

The Portuguese boss is expected to visit his former side and watch their game against Sampdoria tomorrow night.

Inter’s honorary president Massimo Moratti told Italian outlet ANSA: “I think Mourinho will be at San Siro on Saturday evening.

"A gift for the fans? It’s him who likes to come to Milan.

"He’s in the history of the Nerazzurri and his presence further strengthens the club.

"We’d scheduled a lunch either here or in London, and we took the opportunity of the Sampdoria match to see each other.”

Reports suggest Inter are keeping an tabs on Manchester United’s main target with Roberto Mancini’s future uncertain.

But Italian newspaper La Stampa claim Mourinho is in fact making the trip south to scout Mauro Icardi and Miranda as he makes plans for the summer.

Both Inter players are reportedly on Mourinho’s wishlist should he take the reins at United in the summer, as expected.

Striker Icardi has netted 10 times in 22 Serie A appearances this season that has seen him attract interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

While Miranda’s consistency this term under Mancini is said to have impressed Mourinho.

The Brazilian is contracted at the San Siro until 2018, while Icardi’s contract is valid until 2019.
