Stranraer vs Brechin City - Trio missing for Stranraer

Posted Saturday, January 30, 2016 by PA

Stranraer host bottom side Brechin City without the injured trio of goalkeeper David McGurn (toe), player/assistant manager Lee Mair (groin) and player/ coach Chris Aitken (calf).

Blues boss Brian Reid is looking for his side to start where they left off against Cowdenbeath last weekend, as he explained: "We put in a really good performance at Central Park and more than deserved our 2-0 win.

"We need to show that level of performance to our home fans as the last time we played at Stair Park we lost 5-0 to Peterhead.

"Brechin will be keen to pull us closer to them and we need to ensure that doesn't happen."

Brechin are missing Paul McLean with a hamstring injury and Ross Perry remains out long term with a knee problem, but Jonathan Tiffoney returns after suspension.

Lewis Spence is available after shaking off a knock, with player/ manager Darren Dods, who has spent a fruitless week looking to add to his squad, saying: "We were two goals down to Airdrie last weekend at half time, however, everyone rallied and we managed to secure a point.

"The spirit the players showed was fantastic and confirmed that we are very much fighting for everything. We will take confidence from it and go out looking for a win at Stair Park."
