Greenock Morton vs Glasgow Rangers - Morton must cope without Luca Gasporotto

Posted Sunday, January 24, 2016 by PA

Morton will be unable to call on Luca Gasporotto when Rangers visit Cappielow.

The on-loan defender is unable to face his parent club and joins Frank McKeown and Peter MacDonald (both knee) on the sidelines, but Michael Tidser could be on the substitute's bench after overcoming a hip problem.

Manager Jim Duffy said: "We were strong as a side when we got a point at Rangers last month. We will need to be even stronger in this game as Rangers have improved since then.

"It will be a real challenge to match that result, or do even better, it but if we go out and have our organisation spot on then we have a chance."

Rangers will be near to full strength.

Winger David Templeton (knee) is the only absentee while Nathan Oduwa returned to parent club Tottenham after last weekend's win over Livingston.

But assistant manager David Weir has said the club will try and utilise more loans from Premier League clubs.

He said: "I think Rangers has got great things to give to these loan players in respect of the crowds, the expectations and the environment that hopefully we are creating here that replicates what they want to do with their careers at their parent clubs."
