Ayr Utd. vs Cowdenbeath - Suspended Gerry McLauchlan absent as Ayr boss faces selection headache
Posted Saturday, January 16, 2016 by PA
Ayr United host Cowdenbeath with the banned Gerry McLauchlan heading a list of seven possible absentees for the Honest Men.
Paddy Boyle is ruled out with a knee injury with Ross Docherty, Jamie Adams, Brian Gilmour and Craig Moore all rated as doubts.
Ross Caldwell is joining the Fife visitors when his contract runs out after the game and has not been considered for selection with manager Ian McCall saying: "We do not have a big squad and we could be missing an entire midfield in what is one of the worst situations I have had in my time as a manager.
"However we simply need to get on with things."
Cowdenbeath will have new signing Grant Adam in goal as Jamie Sneddon is absent with a thigh injury.
Foot injuries see Jack Beaumont and Kyle Miller miss out with the on-loan Andy Murdoch returning to Rangers and Gordon Smith has headed to Australia to leave manager Colin Nish short of replacements.
Declan McDaid has joined on a temporary basis from Partick Thistle with Nish saying: "We will not have a settled team at the start of the game but we have to make a good start.
"The last time we were at Ayr we went behind early and the game ended up 5-0 so we have to bed ourselves in."
