Edinson Cavani is set to be forced out of Paris-Saint Germain and an offer of £47 million would be enough for Arsenal to sign the forward, per French publication BuzzFeed.
The striker is set to be moved on by the Ligue 1 giants by next summer as they hunt for another striker, but will look to recoup a large amount of the £55 million they spent on Cavani (fee via the Mirror) in 2013.
And with the 28-year-old set to depart France Arsenal have emerged as a front runner to sign the Uruguayan forward.
Cavani has netted 10 goals in 16 appearances in the French top flight but has often played second-fiddle to Sweden superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic since his transfer from Napoli, regularly finding himself forced out onto the wing.
And the report suggests that an offer of £47m will get Cavani. Arsenal are joined by Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in pursuing his signature.
Should the Gunners complete a deal for the striker at this price then it will be their record transfer fee, overtaking the £42.4m spent on play-maker Mesut Ozil in 2013 (fee via BBC Sport).
Like Ozil Cavani is a recognised top player who can regularly find the net.
