On Monday night at Old Trafford, there was a fine exhibition of goalkeeping with both Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea pulling off fine saves during Manchester United 0 – Chelsea 0.
With both Premier League giants struggling, it will come as no surprise that their star custodians are being linked with moves away from Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge respectively.
In recent days the rumours have begun again about David De Gea to Real Madrid and on Tuesday evening OkDiario report that Thibaut Courtois is also now eyeing a move to The Bernabeu.
They claim Courtois wants to leave Chelsea following a disappointing season and his representatives have contacted Real Madrid.
But, as it stands, Los Blancos feel they have a moral commitment to De Gea, following last summer’s botched transfer.
Courtois was often linked with Real Madrid during his time at Atletico and the Chelsea goalkeeper wants to return to the Spanish capital, according to OkDiario.
They report that whilst super-agent Jorge Mendes is not Courtois’ agent, he does have some influence over the goalkeeper who wants out of Stamford Bridge.
Ironically, despite the botched attempt to sign De Gea, Keylor Navas has been in excellent form for Real Madrid this season.
And, OkDiario add another twist to proceedings. Suggesting that were Real Madrid to bring in a new number one goalkeeper next summer, that Pep Guardiola wants to bring the Costa Rican custodian to Manchester City.
