Ayr Utd. 1 - 2 Dunfermline: Ten-man Dunfermline go three points clear
Posted Sunday, December 13, 2015 by PA
Dunfermline overcame the dismissal of Joe Cardle to move three points clear of Ayr at the top of Ladbrokes League One, winning 2-1 at Somerset Park.
Michael Moffat gave the Pars a 34th-minute lead when he rounded off good work by Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Michael Paton to beat Ayr goalkeeper Greg Fleming.
The home side were level a little more than two minutes later when Gerry McLauchlan headed in Brian Gilmour's cross.
Cardle was dismissed in the 52nd minute after picking up two bookings in quick succession - the first for diving in the box, the second for a clash with Ayr's Peter Murphy.
However, David Hopkirk won it for Dunfermline in the 69th minute with a low shot.
