US Sassuolo Calcio 1 - 0 Carpi: Nicola Sansone hands Sassuolo win against Serie A strugglers Carpi
Posted Monday, November 09, 2015 by PA
Nicola Sansone's first-half strike handed Sassuolo victory over Carpi on Sunday as the Neroverdi remained unbeaten at home this season.
The hosts took a 28th-minute lead when Domenico Berardi's cross found Sansone in the box and he drilled a six-yard attempt past Carpi goalkeeper Vid Belec.
Sassuolo's sixth triumph of the campaign has kept them fifth in the Serie A table heading into the international break.
Bottom-side Carpi lost for the eighth time as Fabrizio Castori began his second stint in charge, having returned to the club following Giuseppe Sannino's sacking last week.
The latter had steered the club to just one win after replacing Castori in September.
