Scunthorpe United vs Southend United - FA Cup changes forced upon Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins will be forced to ring the changes for his side's FA Cup tie against Southend at Glanford Park.

Robins will be without Murray Wallace and Joe Lolley who have been recalled by parent club Huddersfield, while Tommy Rowe has been denied permission to play by Wolves.

Tom Hopper is also ruled out after an operation on a dislocated shoulder which is expected to keep him out for up to five months.

Robins has a number of options with Luke Williams pushing for a recall after injury, while Kevin van Veen, Darius Henderson and Dave Syers are also in contention.

Southend are struggling with injuries and could be without as many as eight players.

Striker Noel Hunt and captain John White are definitely out with ankle injuries, while midfielders Anthony Wordsworth and Garry Deegan are afflicted by similar problems.

Top scorer Joe Pigott (dead leg), winger Myles Weston (Achilles) and defender Adam Barrett (hamstring) are all doubtful while on-loan defender Glen Rea looks unlikely to be given permission to play by parent club Brighton.

Manager Phil Brown told the Southend Echo: "I would have looked to have made a couple of changes this weekend anyway but it does look as though they're going to be forced upon me now."
