Shrewsbury are sweating on Liam Lawrence for the visit of Doncaster after the midfielder missed their 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe with a virus.
Jermaine Grandison also sat out the defeat at Glanford Park after missing training at the end of last week with a minor back problem but could return for Micky Mellon's side.
Former Norwich and Derby man Zak Whitbread is expected to make his home debut after signing on a short-term deal until January following a trial spell.
Shrewsbury are 18th in Sky Bet League One having won just once in their last five games.
