Arsenal fully committed to securing deal to sign Real Madrid attacker

Arsenal are committed to completing the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Isco according to Spanish source Fichajes via the Metro.

23-year-old Spanish international Isco has struggled to cement a foothold in the Real Madrid starting eleven since his move to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2013 but has enjoyed a stronger run in Rafa Benitez’s side recently, with Gareth Bale being sidelined with a calf injury.

17 of Isco’s 66 La Liga appearances over the course of his first two seasons at Real Madrid came from the bench, but this term the creative attacking midfielder has started five of the club’s six domestic league fixtures. While the former Malaga man is still to net a goal this term, he has provided two assists.

Isco will be hoping to secure a prominent role in Vicente del Bosque’s national team set-up for the Euro 2016 finals and as such, regular first-team action is key.

Therefore, the playmaker will hope to see his involvement continue once Bale recovers from his time out.

Isco is very much a Wenger-style player; comfortable on the ball, versatile and free-thinking, although Gunners fans may wonder if the addition of another attacking midfielder is as pressing as the capture of a prolific goal-scoring forward or an experienced defensive-midfield enforcer.
