Eibar 1 - 1 Celta Vigo: Iago Aspas the hero again as Celta Vigo keep unbeaten run going

Just three days after helping thrash Barcelona, Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas rescued a point against Eibar.

Aspas netted twice in the unexpected 4-1 win over the defending champions on Wednesday and was climbed off the bench to force a draw at the Municipal de Ipurua.

Borja Baston had put the home side ahead after just three minutes, with Aspas on target for the fourth time this season in 76th minute.

Any lingering euphoria from Celta's midweek exploits evaporated within moments of the kick-off as Borja poached the opener for the home side.

Saul Berjon's corner was headed smartly at the near post by Sergi Enrich and looked to be creeping wide until Borja cut across his marker and applied the finishing touch from a couple of yards.

The score stayed at 1-0 until half-time, Asier Riesgo making a solitary save from Celta's Theo Bongonda.

Aspas entered at the interval, replacing Pedro Hernandez.

Borja saved from Sergio Alvarez on the hour mark, while Sergi Gomez was called on the make a couple of defensive blocks to keep Eibar out.

Eventually, though, Eibar gave way at the other end.

Jonny Castro whipped in a cross from the right wing and Riesgo made a mess of coming to collect.

He dived for the ball but barely laid a glove on it, instead allowing Aspas to steal in behind and hook home from six yards.

The result leaves Celta fourth in La Liga and unbeaten in six games, with their opponents sitting ninth.
