Southend United vs Scunthorpe United preview - Southend set for defensive reshuffle against Scunthorpe

Southend face a defensive reshuffle ahead of the visit of Scunthorpe.

Centre-half Adam Barrett pulled a hamstring shortly after scoring against Millwall last weekend and is set to miss out.

With captain John White also battling a thigh problem, Luke Prosser could move into the middle while the fit-again Ben Coker takes over at left-back.

Brighton loanee Glen Rea is available and Stephen McLaughlin may also return following illness.

Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins has no new injury concerns and could name an unchanged side for the trip to Roots Hall.

Robins will be eager for his side to respond after last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Rochdale stretched their recent poor form to one win from six League One games.

Niall Canavan, Luke Williams and Stephen Dawson remain long-term casualties for the Iron.

However, both Williams and Dawson have returned to training and are getting closer to a return to first-team action.
