Shrewsbury Town vs Blackpool preview - James Collins pushing for Shrewsbury return

Three-goal top scorer James Collins is pushing for a Shrewsbury recall against Blackpool.

Tyrone Barnett has been preferred ahead of the former Swindon striker but boss Micky Mellon admitted he is close to a return.

"James has been making players know if you don't do things right, you will get walloped," he told the Shropshire Star.

James Wesolowski is out for the season with a knee injury as Shrewsbury look for their first home Sky Bet League One win of the season.

Bottom-of-the-table Blackpool will pick from the same pool of players in Shropshire.

Former Blyth Spartans midfielder Jarrett Rivers remains the only absentee, although he is back training again following a hamstring strain.

Nile Ranger will not be ushered back into the first team despite the club's troubles, manager Neil McDonald has confirmed.

The striker uploaded videos of himself independently training in Seasiders kit this week, but McDonald has no plans to welcome him into his first-team squad after he failed to show for the start of pre-season earlier this summer.
